The Lime Tree

9 Mar

013We have a lime and an orange tree in our front yard. We have been harvesting and eating limes and oranges from these trees since arriving in Guanajuato in early January. Master Gardener that he is, Dana offered to prune the trees for our landlord. The appropriate pruning tools were purchased and Dana went to work. Over the course of two weeks he meticulously cut branch by branch.

Here are the results for the lime tree…

And I thought getting nail clippers across the border was a hassle 😉 Anyway, there is something ironic about an anglo trimming trees in Guanajuato. Jus sayin’

We need Dana back here badly! Our fruit trees at the Community Garden are in need of pruning and we don’t have any experts here. May I suggest they wait until you get back before we do it? When are you due back?

Dana says he’s not experienced with cold weather stone fruit that have different pruning needs. Anyone qualified comes along, grab them.

The tree is so much happier. We smell orange blossom wafting in the window, especially in the mornings and evenings.
