Nancy Lehrhaupt
is winner of the
Medflies Holiday Drawing
Congratulations Nancy! Nancy, a dear friend from home in Eldorado, New Mexico, has already let us know that her fiance, John Oberhausen, covets the Aboriginal Australia bag. We can only imagine it filled with massage equipment for work, garden hoses and irrigation nozzles for the community garden or gym clothes for those early morning workouts. Enjoy John.
We wanted you to know about our plans for Christmas. There will be a hiatus in Medflies as we take two weeks to travel to our next stop, Valparaiso Chile.
We are spending one week traveling from Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand to Auckland on the North Island via the TransScenic Railway. Then we have one day in Tahiti and on to Los Angeles and Pasadena, California to spend New Year’s week with our son Darin and his family. Word has it we are going to the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.
We will arrive in Valparaiso on January 5, 2013. We will be posting stories and photos of the trip along the way dependent on available net connections.
And there will be another post or two from Australia before we leave.
About the bows…We especially enjoyed the flouncy red, white and green bows on the tree trunks on Hutt Street around the corner from our house. Only in a Mediterranean climate could you wrap a tree with a NET bow and expect it to last for the Holiday season. And then there is the festive parrot or two decked out in their finery making every day a holiday all year long.
May your Holidays be Merry and Bright.
