Coming Soon…Cartagena

9 Dec

We’re back on the road, headed to Cartagena, Colombia in January for a two month stay.

Cartagena is a different choice for us. It is tropical. And it is on the Carribean Sea, a part of the world we have not visited. We are looking forward to hot! hot! hot!, sun, ocean, architecture, history and a entirely new culture with great Columbian cuisine and endless coffee beans.

Our apartment is in an old hotel on Plaza de Bolivar, a small square filled with trees and central to Ciudad Amarallada, the walled “Old Town” of Cartagena. Cartagena’s history is filled with pirates and greedy Englishmen fighting against the domination of Spain in their quest for the gold of the new world.

We may not be up late enough to dance the salsa in the lively clubs of the Getsemani neighborhood. But we will be walking the narrow streets daily as we discover the city the Spanish called Cartagena de Indias.

It is great to be traveling again and to have you with us on this trip.
