It is just a Friday afternoon. Dana and I are walking home from school when we hear the music. We thread our way through the people in the street to the park in the center of Guanajuato. There we see couples dancing. You can tell these are people who have danced together for a long time. They move as one without effort. Gracefully circling and re-circling their partner in a Latin pas-de-deux.
The dresses are graceful, the gentlemen dapper and the shoes are wonderful. You can tell this is an afternoon treat for couples who dance.

The slow beauty of the dance mirrors the tranquility of the late afternoon sun filtering through the trees in the park. Time stops for just a few beats.
