Brain Report 1: So Far…So Good
As promised, this is the first report on the state of my brain after 5 weeks of studying Spanish at Escuela Mexicana. When I started studying in Guanajuato I was at Beginner Level now I am moving into Intermediate. I have seen a difference in my ability to memorize and my information processing speed has improved since I started studying Spanish. I still can’t speak to save my neck, but I am improving.
I have three classes; Conversation, Practical Spanish and Spanish Grammar. This is Practical Spanish with my Maestra and my amigos. The youngest student in my classes is 18, the oldest is 67. When I studied with a group of women in Cuzco, Peru last year the youngest was 22 and the oldest 83. Age really is not a barrier to learning. And now I find that school is more fun.
I was talking to a friend who said he wanted to learn Spanish but didn’t think he could at his age. I say Pish Tosh.
