We were riding along on the Metro from Valparaiso to the town next door, Vina Del Mar. The scene you see above flashed by the window of our car. It happened so fast that we weren’t really sure what it was. So on the trip back we made a point of watching out. Sure enough it was six full-sized Volkswagen Beetles hanging by giant clothes pins in an industrial area near the Metro tracks. Getting a picture was quite a challenge as the site was framed by brick walls on either side. So Dana had to be ready to snap the photo as soon as the installation was visible. It took a few trips to get the photo.
This artistic industrial line is in contrast to the towels and sheets of Sicily. The quintessential Valparaiso laundry line.
