This basilica is being reconstructed in a Roman villa near Piazza Armerina. The home includes custom mosaic floors, frescoed walls, an indoor swimming pool and aqueducts. The villa was built in the first quarter of the fourth century for an upper class Roman.

Since you don’t watch much (if any) TV, you probably aren’t aware of the HGTV channel that features houses both in US and international. Not sure I’ve ever seen any that look quite like that one. Most Americans who look for housing in foreign countries want lots of space. Not too many feature indoor swimming pools, custom mosaic floors and their own aqueducts. Those features beat out granite countertops any day.
Have you had any pangs of homesickness yet for your own homestead?
Dana hasn’t but I have. Also we miss our dog….a lot. I think he would like Sicily. Seems like there are many more “small” dogs here as so many people live in apartments.
