We are holding a Happy Holiday Drawing for this Australian carry bag with art designed by Biddy Napanangka. Of course, the entry describing the meal you ate at the restaurant around the corner from your house in Sicily still makes my mouth water! Perhaps you should be writing about your dining experiences for a (retired) living. Please don’t let all of the votes for the “food” entries sway you from posting variety
I didn’t notice how many of these were food until you pointed it out. Hmmm. Maybe I should write more of these “Eats” columns. No worries on variety. There are an endless number of things to explore.
My wish for the season is that EVERY child is granted the right to experience AT LEAST one moment of JOY before the new year is upon us!

You are correct. I do love the bag! My favorite post is the recent one about the Carolers in the street for two reasons. First, the image it evokes of you dancing in the streets. Second, the memories that come to mind when I think of our Christmas’ past that filled me with such goodess as a child :).
Yes those were great Christmases and the memories fill be with the same goodness of spirit today.
Remember I did add “superstitiously” to the dancing. I was trying to be discrete though the spirit of the music had me. Love Aunt Jill

Just getting caught up on your blog. I loved your photo essays especially the flowering trees!! Attending the Messiah sing along sounded wonderful. So glad your travels have been so great and thanks for sharing. We finally got 4 inches of snow last night!!
I saw the photo on the front page of the New Mexican today and thought of all of you in the snow for Christmas. It would be great if it stayed. Hope you, Jeff and Madelaine all have the merriest of Christmases.
Hi Jill & Dana, I was perusing some past chapters of your entertaining blog and was delighted by the Tango description and the photo’s of the fabulous shoes that I can no longer wear.
It took me back to Buenos Aires which we visited Feb. 2012. We too were enchanted by the elegant dancers, young and old; dancing in the street and at the clubs. They were so surreal and from another world.

Hi Leni, So glad to see you here. Jill and Paul, the owners of our house, Casa Tango, here in Adelaide have really given us an appreciation for the beauty of the tango. Valparaiso Chile isn’t Buenos Aires, but maybe we will see some tango while we are there. Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year to you and Gilles.

Hi all. My favorite Dana and Jill travel posting was, of course, for the birds. No, I mean the birds. I am also so impressed with your travels. What an incredible experience. My favorite place you have been so far was South Africa. that looked amazing. We are lighting the Hanukkah candles now, tho John has not gotten me 8 presents for the 8 nights of Hanukkah. I will keep reminding him, tho, you can be sure. I love Xmas lights. they are so festive. We leave ours up all year round. I don’t want the fabric bag but Obie says he does.
Cape Town was spectacular. I can only imagine what the rest of South Africa is like. I love lights too. I have been wracking my brain about how to have decorations that we can unpack and put up every night while we are on the road. Finally found a tiny collapsible wooden Christmas tree with ornaments that we can set up every night here, in New Zealand, Tahiti and LA. Can’t wait for it to arrive from the UK. Happy Hanukkah. One big present can equal eight I hear.
