Hello Cuenca

18 Jan

We are in Cuenca, Ecuador in the foothills of the Andes. At 8,300 feet and near the equator, Cuenca has a climate that might be described as “spring all year round.”  This will give you a feeling of our impressions on our walk around Cuenca on the first day of our two month sojourn.

Jill and dana, you are masters of travel. You bring a wide smile to my face, as I sit here in the Adelaide Hills, preparing for work, and marvelling at another of your stories.

Good to know you are still traveling with us, Paul. We have many good stories of our time with you and Jill in Adelaide. Happy New Year 2019 to you both.

I love Cuenca! Beautiful town with lovely people and nice art. We were there for Christmas a few years back. Enjoy your stay!

I had a Spanish teacher in Quito who now lives in Cuenca although I don’t believe she teaches Spanish any longer. Perhaps you could meet up. Nice woman. Let me know the best way to reach you and lI’ll send her your contact info.

¡Qué agradable! Photos are spectacular. What a unique and charming place. Having “spring all year round” sounds really good about now with temps in the teens. Have you had to adjust to the altitude? Since Santa Fe has a high elevation maybe it isn’t an issue for you. Look forward to checking out all your new adventures!

Maryl, I missed your post and was late in posting it. Yes, Santa Fe had us well prepared for the altitude. And we are most happy to be missing the snow back at home. We have an amazing deep green, iridescent hummingbird visiting the feeder on our deck. Our outside raining is covered with blooming jasmine. I love it.
