Many of the places we have visited have their own style of street art that expresses a unique aspect of that cities’ culture. Cuenca is part of that tradition.
In Adelaide it is contemporary and abstract.
In Valparaiso it is an explosion of color covering entire buildings.
In the Hispanic barrio of San Francisco it is a celebration of one culture in the context of a multicultural city.
In Cuenca the stylized images are of the people of Cuenca.
Juxtaposed with the crowded sidewalks, the fuming buses and the honking taxis are these unique, colorful and artfully imagined portraits.

Hi Jill and Dana. Sorry to report that the wall of cars depicted in the Adelaide photo is no more. Not sure why.

I am so sorry to hear that Paul. But, I guess, it is really understandable. With the wind, the rain and the sun it was only a matter of time until those cars and trucks let go. It was a wonderful piece of public art that was such a surprise among the walls of Adelaide.
