We love gelato. Here ice cream stores most often identify it as “helado,” simply ice cream. But there is nothing that would qualify as simple at the shop we found in a walk street right around the corner from our apartment. Flavors are in Spanish displayed in covered containers. So ordering is a surprise for us. Here are some flavors we have tried…
Mantecado – Cuban Custard, Nata – Cream, Lemon con Jengibre – Lemon with Ginger, Turon – Nougat, (Alicante is known for Nougat candy.) Dulche de Leche – 3 Milk and Caramel, Leche de Renada – Meringe Milk, Chocolate sin Leche – Chocolate without Milk, Tarta de Queso – Cheesecake, Marcuya – Passion Fruit, Orquideas Vainilla – Vanilla Orchids, Alemendra, Limon y Vainilla – Almonds, Lemon and Vanilla and more to try before we go home.
I am a purist so the photo is Chocalate Belga y Nata – Belgian Chocolate and Nata – Cream.
Yum! All those Gelato flavors look amazing. Hope you are enjoying every minute. Much love, Leah

Alicante has more plazas and parks than any city we have visited. Really enjoying the green.
Excuse me a moment while I grab a microfiber cloth to wipe the drool from my iPhone screen. Now—-where were we. Oh yes: WOW! And so far from Italy. Who knew? I sure didn’t. 😋

We’re trying to ration ourselves.
