Algo Nuevo

25 Mar

We are trying something new. Usually we tell a story in each blog post. Dana takes the photos and I craft the story around them. But we have many photos that are their own story. Some can stand on their own with no words needed. In others we thought you might enjoy some background.

In a tiny church we found this statue of a saint with his dog, biscuit in mouth. We have visited many churches in the years we have been traveling. This is new.
On a Sunday morning we came upon this neighborhood bocce court. Several teams were playing with much kibbitzing. Someone brought pizza for everybody.
Venezuelan Arepas…
This little dog was waiting somewhat patiently at the door of the market near our apartment. Leash clips like this are common in Alicante. There are many, many, many small dogs. But streets and sidewalks are very clean.
Fresh burrata cheese has been a favorite since we have been here. Though true barrata originated in Italy, most specifically from Puglia, Spain has its own version, creamy and delicious.
Bike Racks…
This little lady sits out on her steps every day. We have passed her many times. There are two bird cages, two canaries each, hanging on the wall across from her. She sees the birds. The passersby see her.
In sinc…
We watched this wetsuited man a long time before we figured out he was using a metal detector to look for jewelry lost in the surf.

I love these, Miss Jill. Especially the saintly dog with biscuit. It looks like a truly beautiful place. Thank you for sharing it with us.
