We heard a story about why the houses in Valparaiso are painted such bright colors. Valparaiso is a port. Because it is a port many boats visit the Valparaiso docks. When in port boats are repaired and repainted. The story goes that there would be buckets of left over paint on the docks after the boats were finished. Being an enterprising people, the locals would take the paint for their houses regardless of the colors available. Et voila! You have the exotic canvas that is Valparaiso.
So now we know that they don’t paint the boats light pastel colors.
Yup. Those boats are pretty bright. 🙂
