Visiting Santa Barbara is like visiting an old friend. The streets, the flowers, the trees, the light…are all welcome and familiar.
And we have found new views. We made new friends at the garden, on hikes, in our neighborhood and in our classes. We got to see Santa Barbara through their eyes.
We traveled up the coast for unseen views of California ocean and land through the windows of a train. We hiked newly remade beaches after the welcome storm in February.
People ask us here and at home whether we will move back to Santa Barbara. The first answer is we don’t need to, it is in our memories and in our hearts. But the second answer is not so facile…maybe…someday. She is an easy woman to love.
Thank you for traveling with us. Medflies is complete. We have lived in the five major Mediterranean climate areas of the world. But we are not done. I will be going to Cuzco, Peru in June and Dana and I plan a trip to Guanajuato, Mexico in January, February and March of 2015. We will start a new blog for this new chapter in the infinitesimal travel we have come to love.
Be sure to come with us and “Vaya con Dios.”
Thank you for a wonderful travelogue. We enjoyed every moment of it and fell in love with Santa Barbara.
Welcome back to good ol’ Eldorado. We are moving into town but hope to see you again soon.
