If you are puzzled by the title of this post, let us explain. Guanajuato is a city within the larger Guanajuato state in the country of Mexico. This photo essay focuses on Guanajuato state outside of the city of Guanajuato. It also seeks to capture a state-of-mind in these visual perceptions of Guanajuato and its people.

    It looks quite dry there. Do they have a rainy season as in other Mediterranean climes

      It is dry right now. The rainy season is in the fall, ends in October.

      Hi Nancy, So nice to have you here. The cactus here are so healthy. Street vendors sit on little stools along the sidewalks of Guanajuato peeling huge nopales to sell to passersby.
