Street Mosaics

DSC05435As we walk around the city we see art everywhere. City street lamp posts and benches are decorated with intricate mosaics. The colors bend and weave to reflect the shape of the object decorated. It is such a pleasure to sit on such a bench or a wall and see rich design in everyday things.

It speaks well of people when they beautify their surroundings!
So are you saying Dana eats too much?

Oh no. Just commensurate with his size. 🙂

What a feast for the eyes (and ears. Nice job with the audio last time!). Did you know about this rich artistic character of the city from your research or was it a surprise? Speaking of feast.. how’s the food?

We really didn’t know the extent of the artistic character of Valparaiso before we came nor did we know that our neighborhood is known for the arts. I had seen the murals on the front of our house and loved them. Little did I know how many more surround us…For food. Very good. Dana had the signature dish for lunch last week. It is a mixture of pork, cheese, onion, and egg on top of a bed of french fries. This usually serves 2 to 3 economy size people. Dana was a different story.
