Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

There are lots of stray dogs in Valparaiso and they all seem to be asleep on the street. You can’t take a walk without tripping over a snoozing pooch. Dana is taken by their untroubled dreams while surrounded by crowds of walking and talking people and noisy traffic. Not to mention that some are right in the street and don’t seem very concerned about mortality.

It’s funny…in Siracusa there were more stray cats and dogs were pets. In Valparaiso, you more often see stray dogs.  Here are some kitties too.

Please Note: After receiving comments from our loyal readers it is quite clear that these dogs may be sleeping because they are hungry and therefore, very tired. Please forgive us if we have offended anyone in showing these realistic pictures of street life in Valparaiso.

You kinda wonder just what those dogs do to wear themselves out like that!
Interesting that I see a little golden retriever-ish appearance. Also sweet Violet-like terrier mixes. Thanks for sharing the pooches with us. (Cats too.)

Yes. Somehow these dogs manage to make it day-to-day and still sleep without a care like this. I keep watching for homeowners or store owners who must feed them?

When food is scarce it’s best to conserve your energy….
