Our friends, Dede Hatch and Jon Reis are here with us, visiting from Ithaca, New York. Santa Barbara is the perfect escape from the bitter winter cold and deep snow back East this year.

Dede and Jon are our first visitors in all of our Mediterranean travels. We have shared the Pacific Ocean, Los Padres National Forest and the wine country of the Santa Ynez river valley, Lake Cachuma and its’ birds and many miles of walking in Santa Barbara and discovering new parts of the city. It has been a great visit.

Selfies just arrived! Thank you Jill & Dana you were wonderful the past week. Dede and I are sitting in bed at 4:10 AM reading our mail, drinking our coffee and eating granola bars for our nourishment before we begin our trip back to ITHACA. We love you.
I think you better check on your mailman. I think he is keeping the blog for a day to read himself before sending it on to you. Here’s to a safe (and speedy) trip home with no snow and no overnight in Philadelphia.
