The Electric Bus

5 Feb

DSC07917Throughout our travels we have relied on public transportation…metros, taxis, colectivos, trains and buses. Not only is it an inexpensive mode of travel but a great way to meet locals. Our conversations lead to all sorts of insider information and points-of-view that we might not hear otherwise.

Santa Barbara has a fleet of electric buses that travel up and down State Street, the main street of this little city. The shuttle buses are open-air and cost seniors 25 cents a ride. We ride them regularly.

An especially festive feature on each bus is a “hat” on the top of the roof that changes monthly with current events. This month it is a pair of hearts for Valentine’s Day.

We wish you a wonderful day of love with your valentine this February 14th. We will be taking a train for a romantic day in neighboring San Luis Obispo.

Hi Neil, I assure you the door is wide open all the way down and the breeze blows through the opening. J
