The Divine

12 Sep

Angels. Heaven. Ascension. All are resplendent in the Iglesia del Divino Salvador.

At points, altars and figures stand more than fifteen feet in depth.

Magnificent angels are suspended by heel and wing.

Exquisite carved wood and stone figures clothed in silver adorn the pasos of Easter processions.

In a place where Roman, Visigoth, Arab and Christian religions have all built their places of worship architecture, art and beauty still celebrate belief and faith.

I had forgotten how much you love Baroque religious art…
